Tornadoes in the midwest

Heritage Medical Products 

is located in West Plains, Missouri - 

approximately 180 miles east of Joplin. 

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the tornado yesterday.

I recently made a post about the tornado in St Louis - 

our state of Missouri has had a very rough Spring with the weather.

Leading Edge - A Great Time in Atlantic City -

I enjoyed the Leading Edge meeting in Atlantic City last week.  

This was HMP's first time to exhibit at this meeting and 

I was pleased with the overwhelming response the Polly Bed received.

Lucky?

Jason & I flew to New York City for the AIUM Meeting from St Louis Lambert Airport.  After a canceled flight on Sunday evening we got into St Louis Monday evening.  

Three days later - an EF-4 tornado hit the airport, 

it was the most powerful twister in metropolitan St. Louis since 1967.

We were safe back at home by then but so thankful no one was seriously injured or killed.  

Surrounding neighborhoods took a big hit with several homes a complete loss.  

Our thoughts go out to the citizens in St Louis affected by the tornado.

AIUM 2011 Meeting

What a great meeting we had this weekend in New York City.  Thanks to all the attendees who supported functions in the exhibit hall and made the meeting worthwhile.  We made a lot of new friends at this meeting and we look forward to attending AIUM 2012!

this week for Jason's speech on Ergonomics in ultrasound.  

Today I am stuffing "goody bags" for those attending.  

I believe meetings go better with a little bit of chocolate!

 

Trendelenberg!

We took these photos today of me in Trendelenberg & Reverse Trendelenberg. Notice how red my face is - and I was only there about 20 seconds. This is 30 degrees - great for vascular studies.

The Best SDMS Meeting of our 10 years!

Jason & I attended our first SDMS Meeting in October 2001 in Las Vegas.
At that time the country was still in a state of shock over the events of September 11.
I remember wanting to cancel our trip because I was too afraid to travel.
But we went, took Jason's mom & our girls, got on the plane and flew
to Las Vegas for the SDMS Meeting.
It's so hard to believe that was 9 years and 10 meetings ago.

Last week we had a great time at the 2010 SDMS Meeting in Denver.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made the meeting a success.

Special SHOUT OUT to Jennifer, Beth, Julie & Jeanne - some of our favorite
customers and good friends we can count on visiting with each year at the meeting.

Above is a photo of Jason & me with the Polly Bed* - the only pink exam bed in the exhibit hall
and maybe even the entire state of Colorado.
The Polly Bed* had an amazing debut - with her Power Wedge Sections*
and pink upholstery she was very well received.
So many of you stopped by to take her photo - very exciting for us!
I could not ask for a better response to our New Polly Bed*.

Here's the Polly Bed just before crating today - next time I will see her is in Denver next Wednesday for the SDMS Annual Meeting.

Our first SDMS meeting was in October 2001 - our girls were 2 & 6 years old ..... WOW! they are 11 & 15 now - time really does fly!
It's a great meeting and the Sonographers always have a blast. Lot's of learning, fun dinners and shopping in the exhibit hall. Also, Denver is a great city to visit. I know Jason & I are looking forward to our time in Denver. Jason has sent a 2000 Series Cardiac bed to be used in the hands - on tutorials Thursday, October 14 - before the exhibit hall opens Thursday evening. If you are signed up for the tutorial you will have a chance to test drive our bed. If not, stop by BOOTH #212 for a demonstration.

Can't wait to see you there!

Not long now to the SDMS meeting in Denver, Colorado. This is our 10th year exhibiting - and we always have a great time at SDMS. The meeting opens with a cocktail party in the exhibit hall on Thursday night. Open bar, food, music and shopping around the exhibits. This is when we meet the most attendees. We enjoy hearing what your work conditions are like, if you currently use a specialty bed, what types of injuries you may have, how long you have been scanning, and my favorite - how many studies you do per day. All of this information is very valuable to us in our design and production of exam beds. Although it may seem like fun, Jason & I are gathering information to help sonographers improve their working conditions.
I hope as you read our blog you have already made plans to attend the meeting.
