Feedback LSU

What our clients are saying......

We received this email today from David Barry at LSU Healthcare Network:

I appreciate your follow up on the SonoBed we recently purchased. Everything went fine with the shipping company. I was out of town when it came in. I didn't really know what kind of difference an appropriate exam bed could make. I only wished more people could experience your product. The bed has so many details in the craftsmanship.

Once again thank you for all of your help. I will certainly let people know how great your beds are.

David Barry

 Thanks David!

And thanks to all our clients who have made 2012 fantastic!

Ergonomics - It's not just for Ultrasound!

We are making ergonomic changes within our office this fall.  Our beds offer ergonomic features  and options - but in our day to day lives we are not practicing what we preach.  After reading the following statistics we made a simple change with Kerry's desk.  Adding bed risers from Wal Mart has given her desk 9 inches in height, allowing her to sit and STAND at her desk comfortably all day!
BEFORE:  Kerry sitting at her desk before the risers.

After:  Kerry sitting at her desk after the risers, resting her feet on the foot ring of the chair.

After:  Kerry standing at her desk - increases her lifespan!

Sitting Statistics

  • We spend 9.3 hours of the waking hours sitting down
  • 0.7 hour spend on vigorous exercise or activities
  • Sitting down increase the risk of death due to heart problems by a whopping 40%!
  • Sitting more 6 hours a day, even with exercise, increase the chances of a person to die within 15 years than one who sits for 3 hours a day by 40%
  • People with sitting jobs have double the rate of cardiovascular diseases than those with standing jobs.
  • After 2 hours of sitting down good cholesterol drops by 20%

Stand up and live longer!

SDMS Seattle 2012

Seattle, Washington

September 20-22, 2012

Another great year for us at the SDMS Annual Conference.  This year the conference was held in Seattle, Washington at the Convention Center.  As I have said before, this was our 12th year with SDMS.    Personally, SDMS is my favorite conference to show our beds.

You get the best of both worlds:  Educators, Sonographers and Students

We thrive on their input, from fascination in a
students eyes over our "Fancy Shmancy SonoBed"
to the inside perspective of the overworked
Sonographer scanning 12-14 patients per day.

I have posted a couple of photos of us during our stay.
We had time on Thursday to be tourist, ride the Ferris Wheel and
 eat at some amazing restaurants.

The Famous T-Shirt

I am Angela Stasney, director of marketing at HMP and a child of the 1970's.  As some of you may remember the saying on this t-shirt was a big hit in the mid to late 70's.  The shirt would usually read something like this:

"My parents went to Miami,
and all I got was this lousy t-shirt..."

Of course it didn't have to be your parents or Miami,
it was anywhere someone else went and all you
got was this lousy shirt.

I loved this saying as a child, although I didn't receive a shirt like this, I always wished I had.
Yes, I was jealous of friends who had received that lousy t-shirt.

So when I finally convinced Jason we should give away t-shirts at our meetings,
we came up with all kinds of sayings.  (Some too racy to print on a shirt!)
But then my mind went back to the 70's and those LOUSY t-shirts.

This was my thought, when a Sonographer comes to a meeting and sees the SonoBedTM, they want it instantly.  What better way to go back to work and tell your supervisor than saying it on a t-shirt?
Now Sonographers can wear a stylish t-shirt and still get their point across when it comes to new equipment.

HMP Attends The Leading Edge --- Atlantic City, New Jersey

Angela Stasney & Kerry Leonard

The Leading Edge in Diagnostic Ultrasound
Annual Conference

May 8-11, 2012

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Atlantic City, NJ

This was our second year to attend the Leading Edge Conference.  I had such a great response last year I knew I had to go back.  This year I took Kerry Leonard, she is our lead sales representative and "Jason's right hand man (woman)".  We left our home in West Plains, Missouri and drove to St. Louis to fly out to Philadelphia.  Then we rented a car and drove to Atlantic City Monday night.
Tuesday morning we went to the exhibit hall to set up our booth, only to find out our beautiful pink bed had not been delivered.  That's about the worse thing that can happen when exhibiting at a trade show.  Four nervous hours later our bed arrived just in time to uncrate and set up our booth.

I gave away my famous t-shirts that everyone loves!  And the pink upholstery really brought the attendees in.  We met many students and educators each with stories of bariatric  patients, ergonomics, and positioning patient woes.

Later that evening Kerry and I made our way down the Boardwalk......we loved it.

It was colder than we are accustomed to in Southwest Missouri this time of year, but so interesting and filled with  history.  No trip to Atlantic City is complete without a visit to the Boardwalk.

Thank you to each and everyone who took time out of their busy days to travel to Atlantic City for this informative conference.
Special 'Shout Out' to Lisa Redmond and Jill Lewis who made this trip even better.  These girls had terrific insight to ultrasound and provided me with much needed information for future product development.

St Louis Metro Day Symposium

Deanna Ramseur, Angela Stasney & Kerry Leonard

     St Louis Metro Day Symposium

Kerry, Deanna and I attended the St Louis Metro Day Symposium on Saturday, April 22 at the Frontenac Hotel.  This meeting was sponsored by the St Louis Metro Area Sonographers Society.

We took two beds. the Multi-Specialty SonoBedTM and the 2000 Series Cardiac.  Since this meeting covered several topics it was best to have cardiac, vascular and general ultrasound beds to show.

This is a great meeting and we love the chance to meet Sonographers within our home state.

We gave away our famous t-shirts and
 "the crowd went wild!"
